About Us
Don & Susie
We are Don and Susie Stiver and Barnyard Blessing is our farm-based business found in northwestern Wisconsin. Susie makes our goat milk soaps and lotions right in our farmhouse kitchen. All natural, hand made, and farm fresh from our hand-milked dairy goats, infused with pure and organic essential oils. Don goes by "The Birdman of San Miguel" (a call back to the California origins of his artistry) and makes all the birdhouses out of reclaimed barn wood and fun "found" objects. These all natural artistries are good for both you and the environment.
Behind Our Business
Soap Making
Susie makes the soap in small 36 bar batches in our farm house kitchen. The milk comes from our small herd of dairy goats. The suet (which comes from a local butcher in Cumberland, WI) is then rendered down to a tallow.
Once the tallow is ready, other ingredients are added. This includes wonderful skin loving oils and essential oils. These ingredients are hand stirred into the lye and goat milk mixture which are the catalyists that turn it all into soap. It is then cut into bars the next day and put on the rack for six weeks to cure.
Once it's ready, we package it according to the type of bar it is and take it on the road to craft shows, art festivals, stores, or get it ready to ship directly to you.
Take a sec and hop over to our store to see the final result.

Location
Our Farm
Our farm is located in northwest Wisconsin and is the site of all our production. We raise our family of goats here in our barn and pasture. Our birdhouses are made in the workshop and our soap is made in our farmhouse kitchen. We love visitors, so call before hand and we'd love to set up a time to have you over to meet the goats and pick up your purchases direct.
